Day 8

Woke up, and had to say goodbye to our host family. This was extremely hard to do, and everyone ended up crying. With Carlos translating, Marisol explained to us that she thought of us as her own kids, and we explained back how she made us feel so at home and that she was like our mom and took care of us so well while we were in El Salvador. They told us we always have a home in El Salvador and they hoped to see us again in the future.

After the group said goodbye, we headed off to the resort for our final day!

Another interesting drive....

But we arrived at the beautiful Pacific Ocean for a final relaxing day in the sun :)

We had an amazing last day together, and made lifelong friends.

The next day we returned to Toronto via Dallas, and arrived home Monday morning around 3am, excited for school a few hours later!....

I hope to travel again in the future on a volunteer trip, possibly even back to El Salvador. It was the best trip of my life, by far.

Thanks again to everyone for your support and your good wishes on my trip to El Salvador - I don't think it could have been more of a success.
